Hon. Polam and NEMA Provide Food Relief to Fire Disaster Victims in Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency

In a notable relief effort, Hon. (Dr.) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed, in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), facilitated the distribution of multimillion-naira worth of food palliatives—including rice, vegetable oil, garri, and other essentials—to fire disaster victims across Irepo, Orelope, and Olorunsogo Federal Constituency. The event was attended by NEMA representatives, delegates from the Iba of Kishi, KPUW delegates, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) delegates, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) delegates, Security personnel, APC leaders, and community representatives from the three local governments. The Irepo APC Chairman, Hon Mashood Tiamaiyu speaking on behalf of the three local government APC chairmen, expressed deep appreciation for Hon. Mohammed’s tireless efforts in securing various palliatives for victims who lost businesses and properties to fire disasters. He highlighted how these relief materials offered critical support to those affected and praised Hon. Mohammed’s steadfast dedication to his constituents’ well-being. Hon. (Dr.) Bonuola Abdulazeez, a prominent APC leader, also commended Hon. Mohammed for his remarkable achievements within just two years in office. He noted that Hon. Polam’s contributions outshine those of previous representatives of Old Irepo, with tangible projects and initiatives standing as testaments to his leadership. He further acknowledged the successful partnership between Hon. Mohammed and NEMA Headquarters in delivering aid to the fire victims. Representing NEMA’s Director General, Mr. Olanrewaju Kadiri from the Ibadan Division praised Hon. Polam’s proactive steps in securing these relief materials. “I commend Hon. Polam for his commitment to ensuring these items reached the victims,” he said. “This is one of the well-executed NEMA palliative distributions I’ve witnessed, with all materials fully intact and effectively delivered.” Alh. Abubakar Tajudeen Tunde, representing the KPUW home branch, lauded Hon. Polam’s extensive contributions to the constituency. He cited achievements such as presenting five bills at the National Assembly, empowering 210 youths and women with skills and N200,000 each for garri processing and entrepreneurship, and supporting agriculture and infrastructure projects, including schools and many others. He also noted major projects already approved in the Federal Government’s 2025 budget, urging Hon. Polam to sustain his developmental strides. A Fire Service Station Commander,  ACFS Smooth Simeon from Irepo expressed gratitude to Hon. Polam and NEMA for their prompt intervention, which eased the plight of fire victims. He reported that Kishi alone had experienced five (5) devastating fire incidents between January and March 2025, causing significant losses. He appealed for Hon. Polam’s assistance in reviving the long-defunct “Kishi Fire Tender” to restore hope to the community while praying for his continued success. In his address, Hon. Olaide Mohammed thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for enabling such initiatives through NEMA. He described this distribution as the first phase of relief efforts and promised a second phase in the near future. He advised business owners, particularly those handling flammable materials, to adopt safety measures and pledged to support the Fire Services Commission across Irepo, Orelope, and Olorunsogo within the limits of his influence, despite it being a state-managed agency. The bill seeks to establish the Chartered Institute of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Educators in Nigeria — a professional body that will be dedicated to setting and upholding the highest standards of knowledge, skills, and qualifications for individuals aspiring to become chartered entrepreneurship and enterprise educators, trainers, and consultants in the country. This groundbreaking bill proposes the transformation of the existing Certified Institute of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Education into a Chartered Institute, enabling it to gain the formal recognition, regulatory authority, and technical support necessary to enhance its capacity development initiatives. By doing so, it will play a pivotal role in shaping entrepreneurship and enterprise education across Nigeria and beyond. FMC Igboho Bill Undergoes Public Hearing at the National Assembly

Police Jobs: Facilitated the recruitment of 27 Constituents into the Nigerian Police Force. Nine (9) per each local government. (May – June, 2024)    4: Skills Acquisition, Empowerment and Social Initiatives Agricultural Materials Distribution: Distributed agricultural materials such as sprayers, NPK fertilizers, and fish feed to over 300 farmers (September 2023). Motorcycles Initiative: Empowered the Old Irepo community in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, with 20 motorcycles under the “Ride To Own Initiative” (September 2023). Vehicle Donation: Donated a vehicle to the United Workers in Igbeti (September 2023). Cash Grants Distribution: Distributed cash grants to over 800 people, including women, widows, and the elderly (September 2023). (October, 2024)… ₦20 Million Fertilizer Distribution: Distributed NPK fertilizers to farmers in Irepo, Orelope, and Olorunsogo to boost agricultural produce in the constituency (October 2024).   5: Educational Support Projects  Master’s Degree Scholarship: Provided a Master’s Degree Scholarship to a First-class graduate, Habibullahi, worth half a million. (September 2023). Full Scholarships to 20 Constituents: Awarded full scholarships to 17 constituents to study at the Federal College of Cooperative Studies, Ibadan, and 3 constituents at Novelty Polytechnic, Kishi (December – January 2024). Installation of an Electrical Transformer at Iyayoyin Junction, Kishi, Irepo Local Government Area, to enhance electricity distribution and reliability.   7: 2025 Projects in the National Budget Construction of Two New Bridges in Gbandara Area, Kisi: Development of two (2) bridges to enhance connectivity between Mapo area and Kara Isale-Odo, specifically linking Alhaji Nasiru Araokanmi Street and Amokas Street in Kisi, Irepo Local Government. Construction of dedicated Road Safety Offices in Kisi, Igbeti, and Igboho to improve traffic management, emergency response, and public safety awareness. A “Bill for an Act to Establish the Federal University Kisi, Oyo State, and for Related Matters, 2024 (HB. 1387)” sponsored by Hon. (Dr.) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed passed its Second Reading in the Green Chamber on 14th January 2024. Leading the debate at the National Assembly, Hon. Olaide Mohammed highlighted the absence of a single federal higher institution in the Oke-Ogun zone of Oyo State. He emphasised that the closest federal university to Kisi requires a journey of no less than 200km, underscoring the critical need for accessible higher education in the region. Kisi, he noted, is strategically positioned and surrounded by several local government areas in Kwara and Niger States, making it a viable location for the proposed institution. The bill outlines that the Federal University Kisi will offer diverse and comprehensive courses in the humanities, sciences, and other areas of learning consistent with the standards expected of a university of the highest standing. Objectives of the Federal University Kisi Bill The bill seeks to: a) Foster the advancement of learning and provide equal opportunities for all persons, regardless of race, creed, gender, or political affiliation, to acquire higher and liberal education. b) Offer courses and facilities for learning, leading to the award of diplomas, first degrees, postgraduate degrees, and higher research qualifications across various disciplines, ensuring such opportunities are accessible to deserving individuals. c) Encourage and promote scholarship while conducting research in all fields of learning and human endeavour. d) Align the university’s activities with the social, cultural, and economic needs of Nigeria, and engage in other pursuits appropriate for an institution of the highest calibre. In his conclusion, Hon. Mohammed urged the House Members to support the bill and allow it to progress through all legislative stages. Following a debate, the bill was subjected to a vote, receiving unanimous support from members. It has now been referred to the House Committee on Tertiary Institutions and University Education for further legislative processes, including public hearings and committee reports. This bill, sponsored by Hon.
